Do you live or work in Vancouver? Are you interested in building safe inclusive environments for your organization’s LGBTQ2S+ members? Do you want to develop your understanding, language and skills to better support LGBTQ2S+ families in your work? We can help! This workshop is experiential and interactive, helping you understand diversity and make your program more inclusive for queer, trans and Two-Spirit children, families, clients and staff.
Objectives:
- Identify LGBTQ2S+ terminology and respectful language.
- Understand gender & sexual exploration in toddlers and children.
- Discuss how to create more inclusive and safer environments for LGBTQ2S+ children, families, clients and staff.
- Explore resources and referrals for additional learning.

Joel Harnest
Presenter Information
Joel brings over 10 years of experience in group facilitation, adult education, curriculum design and public speaking to his role at QMUNITY as their former Education & Training coordinator. Joel recently completed a Certificate in Dialogue & Engagement from Simon Fraser University, enhancing his skill set to bring people together to have difficult conversations, create new knowledge and address complex issues. He is currently QMUNITY's Manager of Programs & Community Development.
