This interactive workshop will provide ECE educators an overview of new innovations and applications of SEL to ECE. Building on last year’s workshop, participants will discover how SEL can: 1) help them understand their role as ECE educators; 2) understand their students; and 3) explore how to incorporate SEL into their interactions with young learners .

Dr. Binfet
Presenter Information
Dr. Binfet is an associate professor in the Okanagan School of Education at the University of British Columbia. His research on kindness in school explores how students understand and enact kindness. Dr. Binfet’s re-search on kindness has been published in the Journal of Childhood Studies, the Canadian Journal of School Psychology, and the International Journal of Emotional Education and Dr. Binfet is the lead author of the School Kindness Scale. In addition to his kindness research, Dr. Binfet is the director of UBC’s dog therapy program “B.A.R.K.” His work in B.A.R.K. explores the role therapy dogs play in reducing stress.
