REVISITING THE BASICS To work effectively with children it is necessary – not optional – to understand how a child develops from all perspectives: physical, cognitive, social and emotional. We will explore the typical range of development, how it occurs within the context of family community culture and relationships and gain understanding of the complex interactions amongst developmental domains and the environment as children grow.
COMMUNICATION WITH PARENTS After this workshop you will have a new understanding of your role and responsibilities as a care provider. New strategies for establishing positive partnerships with the parents of the children in you care will be discussed. If time allows we will practice key concepts for positive communication.
