Description:
The Neighborhood Emergency Preparedness Program (NEPP) is a program from the City of Vancouver to teach the public emergency preparedness. This session will teach you how to be prepared for any emergency or disaster you may be faced with, whether you are at home or work. You will learn personal and family preparedness, what to do when disaster strikes, how to connect with your family afterwards (if you are not together), how to perform a “home/office hazard hunt”, and how to prepare your pets.
Objectives:
• Prepare for earthquakes and other hazards.
• Prepare for emergencies with your family, children and pets.
• Learn how to minimize hazards in your home and prepare for emergencies in an apartment.

Suitable for students, parents, adult instructors/administrators, novice, intermediate and experienced early care and learning professionals working with children of all ages, from infant/toddlers to school age children, including children with extra support needs.

Presenter Information
NEPP instructors are a specially trained group of volunteers with the Vancouver Volunteer Corps. They’re not only knowledgeable in emergency preparedness, but actively train and provide their knowledge and skills to real life emergency situations with the City.
