Multi-age care offers a special opportunity for children to grow within a community of other children which reflects how children would have historically matured. A child may start as the baby of a group and over time become the oldest child leading the play. This workshop is based on Katelyn Moon’s work as the owner and educator of Saplings Early Learning Childcare which is a thriving, well regarded, multi-age program in Chilliwack BC. In this workshop, we will examine the advantages of multi-age care by exploring the possibilities of rich program development complemented with theories of child development.
