The world is full of new discoveries and wonder for young children. In this workshop we will examine activities and toys that can help preschoolers understand their world. Each participant will receive a learning resource (activity or game) for preschoolers that will be completed in the “make and take” part of the workshop.

George Melzer
Presenter Information
George Melzer has been an instructor for the Family Child Care Certificate Program at UFV since 1994 and currently is the Associate Professor for Child, Youth, and Family Studies. His educational background includes diplomas and degrees from a number of institutions including a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education at Simon Fraser University. He has worked in the ECE field in a number of capacities. These include being a caregiver, owning and operating a group day care, and designing learning environments for young children. In 2006, George won the coveted Teaching Excellence award at UFV
