Children love to dance! This workshop will take you through age-appropriate movement elements and show you how to incorporate dance into your storytelling time. The first half will get participants comfortable dancing themselves, while the second half of the workshop will explore the link between dance, language and literacy. Participants should come ready to move!
Objectives:
- To become comfortable dancing with children and stretch comfort zones in relation to the idea of incorporating and presenting dance activities for children.
- To understand the movement possibilities when linking story time with movement.
- To understand through experiential learning, how dance as an expressive medium has the power to engage the body, mind and heart.
*Suitable for all early learning child care professionals working with preschool and school age children.
