In this workshop, participants will have hands-on opportunities to analyze high-level child care financial statements, explore real-life examples of the child care financial challenges that influenced the creation of the broadly supported $10aDay Plan, and work collaboratively to begin ‘building’ a publicly-funded child care system.
• Learn why parent fees, on their own, do not provide broad access to quality, affordable child care.
• Appreciate why public funding is essential to providing quality, affordable child care to all who choose it.
• Discuss how we can work together to achieve a publicly-funded child care system over time.
Suitable for parents, students, adult instructors/administrators, novice, intermediate and experienced early learning child care professionals working with children of all ages, from infant/toddlers to school age children, including children with extra support needs.
