An exploratory and informative workshop on breaking art mediums down to the basics and then looking at extensions based on children’s interests and the project work at hand. We will cover a variety of mediums, how to present them to a young audience and ways to expand their learning & skill building capabilities. Objectives: • To explore a large variety of fine arts mediums. • To understand developmentally appropriate ways to introduce and use these with children in a responsive environment. • To discuss art development in children.

Kristi took Fine Arts upon high school graduation, travelled, worked for airlines and did picture framing before finding the profession of ECE in her late 20's. She learned and practiced responsive curriculum inspired by Reggio Emilia and has never looked back. Recently, she has been working as an ECE Facilitator for the City of Surrey, providing training and support for preschool instructors. Currently she is designing and remodeling City of Surrey preschool environments.
